Marawi City: Anti-narcotics operatives arrested an alleged big-time drug peddler in Marawi City, confiscating one kilogram of shabu with an estimated market value of PHP6.8 million, police said Thursday.

According to Philippines News Agency, Colonel Robert Daculan, Lanao del Sur police provincial director, stated that a buy-bust operation was carried out by the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit in Barangay Lilod Saduc, Marawi City. This operation resulted in the arrest of a suspect identified only as 'Menso.'

In a statement, Daculan identified 'Menso' as a high-value target residing in Bagu-Ingud, Ditsa-an Ramain, Lanao del Sur. Police recovered six large sachets of shabu, buy-bust money, and a motorbike used by the suspect in drug peddling activities from 'Menso.'

Daculan mentioned that investigators are currently working to uncover the network of the suspect and his companions within the drug syndicate, which is believed to be operating not only in Marawi City but also in Lanao del Sur, Iligan, and Cagayan de Oro Cities. The successful operation was the result of a month-long surveillance and intelligence buildup.
