Marcos Urges Unity and Hard Work Post-Elections

Mandaluyong City: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. emphasized the importance of setting aside political differences and focusing on national development now that the midterm elections have concluded. He made this statement during a thanksgiving event at the headquarters of Bagong Pilipinas in Mandaluyong City, where he celebrated the victory of the 12 newly elected senators, half of whom were allied with the administration-backed Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas coalition.

According to Philippines News Agency, Marcos urged the public to prioritize developmental over political issues, citing critical areas such as healthcare, education, agriculture, and supply chain improvements. "Let's let people know what we're doing. Let's let people know that we are going to continue to work hard now. And put the, as I said, politics aside," he stated.

The President expressed his hope that the initiatives launched during his administration would be sustained through to the end of his term in 2028. He also called upon the media to assist in keeping the public informed about his administration's policies and programs. "Lagi natin binibilang ang araw na natira sa term ko. At kailangan matapos ang nasimulan natin," he emphasized, underscoring the urgency of completing his agenda.

Marcos extended his gratitude to those who have supported his administration and expressed confidence in their continued collaboration for the remaining three years of his term. "I know that you will once again, as you did before, do a very, very good job and make a success at whatever it is that we are trying to do," he added.

Among the newly elected senators are incumbents Pia Cayetano and Lito Lapid, alongside Alyansa members Erwin Tulfo, Panfilo Lacson, Vicente Sotto III, and Camille Villar. The remaining winners include Senators Christopher Go, who topped the polls, Ronald Dela Rosa, Imee Marcos, Rodante Marcoleta, Bam Aquino, and Francis Pangilinan.
