Bansud: The Bansud District Jail strengthened its commitment to maintaining a drug-free and secure detention facility following the conduct of a joint Greyhound Operation with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Mimaropa on Monday. The operation was led by Bansud District Jail Warden Jail Chief Inspector Bryan Ian Paul Ra±ada, and carried out as part of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology's (BJMP) continuing implementation of its strict zero-contraband policy inside jail facilities.

According to Philippines News Agency, the BJMP officials said the Greyhound Operation involved a comprehensive inspection of jail premises, including detention cells and common areas, aimed at preventing the entry, concealment, and proliferation of illegal drugs and other prohibited items. The activity was conducted in close coordination with PDEA Mimaropa, which provided technical assistance and operational support.

Ra±ada said the joint operation highlights the importance of inter-agency collaboration in ensuring safe, orderly, and well-managed jail facilities, noting that regular inspections are essential in maintaining discipline and security within detention centers. BJMP Mimaropa spokesperson JO3 Joefrie Anglo said the bureau remains firm in its mission to keep jail facilities clean, orderly, and drug-free.

He emphasized that such operations are conducted not only to enforce rules but also to protect the welfare of both jail personnel and persons deprived of liberty (PDLs). 'The BJMP remains committed to sustaining a secure environment through consistent monitoring and close coordination with partner agencies. These efforts support the bureau's broader goal of rehabilitation and humane custody of PDLs,' Anglo said.

The BJMP added that similar Greyhound Operations will continue to be conducted across the Mimaropa region as part of its intensified campaign against illegal drugs and contraband, in line with national government directives on jail safety and security.
