According to Philippines News Agency, the MMDA announced that motorists can now search using either the plate number and ticket number or the plate number and motor vehicle file number. The first search option is designed for those who have received a notice of violation or traffic ticket, while the second option allows users to view all NCAP violation records associated with a vehicle.
The MMDA emphasized that the new feature is intended to make the process of verifying traffic violations easier, more secure, and accessible for users. In a bid to protect motorists from scams, the agency reminded the public to be cautious of fake text messages, underscoring that "MMDA_NCAP" is the legitimate sender of text notifications. The MMDA warned that legitimate messages do not contain links, and any message with a link should be considered a scam.
For those needing to view evidence of NCAP violations, the MMDA specified that it can only be accessed through the MayHuliKa portal at mayhulika.mmda.gov.ph or via the eGovPH app by searching for MMDA. The MayHuliKa online violation-checking system has recorded over 15 million site visits and 2.7 million unique users as of July, and it has been integrated into the eGovPH Super App.
This integration, a collaboration between the MMDA and the Department of Information and Communications Technology, offers motorists a centralized platform to check and settle traffic violations. The MMDA also noted that unresolved violations are flagged in a motorist's record with the Land Transportation Office, which can hinder the renewal of vehicle registration.
