No Complaint Yet Against Siomai King Co-Owner Macadangdang

Manila: Department of Justice (DOJ) spokesperson Polo Martinez on Monday said no complaint has been filed yet against Siomai King's co-founder Carlito Macadangdang after he and his business partner Jonathan So were linked to the ghost flood control projects in Bulacan.

According to Philippines News Agency, Martinez made this remark after the Court of Appeals reportedly granted the Anti-Money Laundering Council's (AMLC) petition to freeze hundreds of bank accounts and dozens of properties linked to the two entrepreneurs. "No complaint has been filed with the DOJ, specifically charging Carlito Macadangdang as a respondent," Martinez said in a message to reporters.

Macadangdang and So have denied involvement in the flood control scandal, saying the allegations against them were baseless. Last Friday, the DOJ said investigations on the anomalous ghost flood control projects include So, for alleged involvement in one of the contractor firms, Topnotch Catalyst Builders, linked to the anomalous control project.

Prosecutor General Richard Fadullon told reporters that So is not a contractor but a project "proponent".
