Manila: The "Obra (Craftmanship) Antique±o" trade fair is a showcase of the creativity, hard work, and passion of Antique±os, particularly the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). 'We celebrate the shared strength of the Antique±os as a community of creative, hardworking, and passionate people through this trade fair,' said Antique Rep. Antonio Agapito Legarda, in his message delivered by his political affairs officer, Marnie Payne, during the opening at the Robinson's Place in San Jose de Buenavista on Monday.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Antique solon said that with the help of Senator Loren Legarda, they will provide more market access to Antique±o MSMEs through trade fairs and skills training to further develop their products. DTI Antique Provincial Director Mary Jade Gonzales noted that the number of MSME participants increased to 75 this year from last year's 45. 'There are food and non-food coconut products that are being exhibited,' she said.

Gonzales mentioned that coconut products are being highlighted because the event is in partnership with the Philippine Coconut Authority. The Department of Science and Technology, Technical Education Skills and Development Authority, and MSME Development Council also assisted in the product development. Antique Provincial MSME Development Council chairperson Rani Rodriguez encouraged the MSMEs to go digital to become competitive in the market. 'You (MSMEs) have to learn to utilize the digital platform in terms of promotion of your products and with your business transactions,' he said in his message.

The trade fair will run until Dec. 6.
