Manila: Following the success of the inaugural Oman-Cebu Investment Forum in Cebu in 2025 and its second run in Muscat in February 2026, the Oman-Philippines 3: Strategic Majlis will be held in Manila on July 26. The event is set to gather decision-makers and entrepreneurs from Oman and the Philippines to explore new opportunities for business, investment and strategic cooperation.
According to Philippines News Agency, Oman's delegation will be led by Oman Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Oman Labor Minister Mahad bin Said bin Ali Baawain, Muneer Al Muneeri, deputy president of operations for Oman Investment Authority; and Oman Ambassador to the Philippines Nasser bin Said Al Manawri. Foreign Affairs Secretary Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro will also be in attendance as guest speaker, as well as representatives from Philippine government agencies and members of the Filipino business community.
The event will bring together leaders and key stakeholders from both Oman and the Philippines. The forum, which comes after the historic attendance of Foreign Minister Al Busaidi at the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation commemorative activity, acts as a crucial catalyst for deep bilateral growth, focusing heavily on economic, diplomatic and innovative advancement. The DFA said on Thursday that by promoting priority-sector joint ventures and increased trade, the forum actively works to build more robust economic networks between both nations.
"Diplomatically, it solidifies a mutual commitment to constructive global dialogue and regional stability," it said. As both countries approach 46 years of relations this year, the forum is seen to uncover new partnership opportunities in vital infrastructure and emerging fields, including technology, transport, energy, logistics, agriculture and fisheries.
"The Oman-Philippines Strategic Majlis reflects the depth and promise of the relationship between the Philippines and the Sultanate of Oman," Philippine Ambassador to Oman Noralyn Jubaira Baja said. "Through this dialogue, we look forward to advancing cooperation in areas of shared priority, opening new opportunities for trade and investment, and deepening the bonds of friendship between our peoples," she added.
Oman is home to over 47,000 Filipinos living and thriving in the Sultanate. As of June 2026, there are over 60 Filipino-owned small and medium enterprises in Oman across various sectors. This Forum opens opportunities for more Filipino investors in the Sultanate.
