Over 551,000 Antique±os Secure National IDs Through PhilSys Initiative

Antique: Around 551,885 Antique±os have successfully registered with the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) and have been issued their national IDs since the program's commencement in February 2021. This significant milestone marks a step forward in enhancing the accessibility and efficiency of official transactions for residents.

According to Philippines News Agency, Randy Tacogdoy, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Antique provincial head, emphasized the importance of the national ID, particularly in facilitating the claiming of ameliorations and conducting other official transactions. In a recent interview, Tacogdoy urged those who have not yet registered to take advantage of the program.

To further extend its reach, the PSA has collaborated with the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) to implement mobile registration services, aiming to cover more Antique±os. An upcoming mobile registration is scheduled for August in the municipality of Barbaza, and residents are encouraged to participate by bringing necessary documents such as birth certificates or barangay certifications for children without birth certificates.

In addition to national ID registration, the PSA is executing the Barangay Registration Assistance Project (BRAP). This initiative aims to provide individuals in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDA) with access to secure birth certificates. Tacogdoy highlighted a recent mobile BRAP conducted in the barangays of San Remigio, where they assisted 126 individuals in the GIDA barangays of Walker, Insubuan, and Panpanan II.
