P110M Worth of New Assets Enhance Capabilities of Western Visayas Police Units

Iloilo city: Various police units in Western Visayas on Monday received vehicles, firearms, and information technology (IT) equipment in a turnover ceremony at the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) regional headquarters in Iloilo City.

According to Philippines News Agency, the assets included 41 personnel carriers, 15 light motorcycles, 150 assault rifles with complete accessories, and 127 IT units consisting of 118 desktop computers and nine laptop computers. PRO-6 director Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan stated that these new assets will improve the delivery of police services and strengthen the capability of police units to protect communities across Western Visayas.

Ligan emphasized the importance of using the new equipment responsibly and maintaining them properly to ensure long-term service. The newly issued vehicles and motorcycles are expected to boost police mobility and response time, while the firearms will enhance tactical preparedness. Meanwhile, the IT equipment will support modernized policing, data management, and efficient administrative operations.

Brig. Gen. Ligan assured the public that all government-issued resources will be properly accounted for and utilized strictly in accordance with existing laws, rules, and regulations, with an emphasis on transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship of public funds.

The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) received 12 personnel carriers, 60 rifles, nine light motorcycles, 44 desktop computers, and one laptop. The Antique PPO received 12 personnel carriers, 19 desktop computers, and a laptop. The Aklan PPO acquired seven personnel carriers, six light motorcycles, 18 desktop computers, and one laptop. The Capiz PPO was allocated seven personnel carriers, 18 desktop computers, and a laptop.

The Guimaras PPO received six desktop computers and one laptop, while the Iloilo City PO received three personnel carriers, 11 desktop computers, and one laptop. The Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 received 90 rifles, one desktop computer, and one laptop.
