Manila: The Pag-IBIG Fund and the Barangka Credit Cooperative (BCC) officially inaugurated the BCC Masinag Three-Storey Residential Building in Barangay Mayamot, Antipolo City. This development represents the first project funded by the Pag-IBIG Fund Rental Housing Construction Loan Program under Circular No. 437.
According to Philippines News Agency, the project marks a significant milestone in promoting affordable rental housing solutions. Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Marilene Acosta expressed pride in partnering with BCC for this initiative, which is intended to offer safe and affordable rental housing. This program targets Filipinos who find renting more feasible, especially those preparing to eventually own homes.
The residential units range from 19.55 to 40.55 square meters, with monthly rental rates below typical market prices in the area. This initiative aims to provide cost-effective housing for cooperative members, workers, and students looking for convenient accommodation near their places of employment or education.
Acosta emphasized the collective effort needed to ensure more Filipinos can access safe, decent, and affordable housing, whether through ownership or rental options.
