Manila: The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has dispatched 10,500 food packs to areas affected by the recent earthquake in Mindanao. PAGCOR Chair and Chief Executive Officer Alejandro Tengco stated that the agency's assistance aims to help affected families cope with the challenges brought about by the disaster.

According to Philippines News Agency, the relief food packs will be distributed to residents of General Santos City and Mati City, Davao Oriental, as well as the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Region 12 (Soccsksargen) and the Second District of Davao Oriental. A total of 3,000 food pails each will be allocated to General Santos City, Mati City, and the OCD-Region 12. Meanwhile, 1,500 food pails will be distributed in the Second District of Davao Oriental.

During times of calamity, Tengco assured citizens that PAGCOR is always ready to provide help. He expressed hope that affected individuals and families will soon be on their way to recovery and normalcy. Communities in the region are still recovering from the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Mindanao on June 8, affecting more than 173,000 families and causing widespread damage and continuing aftershocks.
