PAL Expands Flight Services to Key North American Cities

Manila: Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has unveiled plans to bolster its flight frequencies to North America beginning November, with an aim to add nonstop flights to Vancouver, Toronto, and New York. This strategic move underscores PAL's commitment to enhancing its presence in one of its most significant markets.

According to Philippines News Agency, PAL President Richard Nuttall emphasized the importance of the North American market, stating, "North America continues to be one of Philippine Airlines' most important markets." Starting November 17, the Manila-Vancouver route will see an increase from seven to ten flights per week. Similarly, flights between Manila and Toronto will be increased from three to four weekly, beginning December 5. Additionally, the frequency of Manila-New York flights will rise from three times a week to five times a week starting December 2, to accommodate the peak December 2026 to January 2027 holiday travel season.

Nuttall highlighted that these additional flights would reinforce PAL's status as the preferred nonstop carrier between the Philippines and North America, offering customers enhanced choices, improved connectivity, and greater opportunities for travel, business, and familial reunions. The increased frequencies will also boost connectivity via Manila to major Southeast Asian destinations such as Jakarta, Bali, Phnom Penh, Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Hanoi.

Through partnerships with American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and WestJet, PAL passengers will benefit from seamless onward connections to various destinations across the United States and Canada. The expanded flight services will also increase cargo capacity, supporting the growing trade, e-commerce, and high-value shipments between the Philippines and North America.

In addition to these expansions, the Tan-led carrier recently announced the launch of a thrice-weekly service between Manila and Chicago starting November 9, further establishing Manila as a premier gateway to North America.
