Palace Asserts President Marcos Jr. Remains Focused Amid Impeachment and Ouster Calls

Manila: Malaca±ang on Thursday dismissed renewed impeachment and ouster calls against President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., saying he remains unbothered and focused on his work to uplift the lives of Filipinos. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the Chief Executive refuses to be sidetracked by baseless accusations and political theatrics, stressing that such noise will not derail the administration's reform and governance agenda.

According to Philippines News Agency, Castro emphasized the difficulty of making claims without evidence. "Mahirap po kasing magsalita ng walang ebidensiya, madaling magbintang, madaling magsabi kung anu-ano. Kung walang ebidensiya, hindi dapat paniwalaan (It's difficult to speak without evidence. It's easy to accuse, easy to say anything. But without evidence, it should not be believed)," she stated.

The remark came after Cavite Rep. Elpidio 'Kiko' Barzaga Jr. accused the President of betrayal of public trust and urged Filipinos to mount a 'people power' movement to remove him from office. Castro, however, emphasized that impeachment proceedings fall squarely within the jurisdiction of Congress. "Makarating o hindi makarating, ito naman po ay trabaho po iyan at saklaw po iyan ng House of Representatives (Whether or not it reaches the President, that is the responsibility and jurisdiction of the House of Representatives)," she said.

Asked whether Malaca±ang is paying attention to Barzaga's statements, Castro reiterated that the President remains unmindful of such political noise. "Sa panahon ngayon na marami pong ginagawa po ang Pangulo, hindi po pinapansin ang mga ganyang klaseng usapin. Busy ang Pangulo sa pagtulong sa mga kababayan natin, maraming trabaho para maiangat pa ang Pilipinas, hindi para ibaba ang dignidad ng ating bansa (At a time when the President is doing so much, he doesn't pay attention to such issues. He is busy helping our people and working to uplift the country-not to drag down its dignity)," she asserted.

The Palace has repeatedly underscored that the President's focus remains on driving economic growth, strengthening governance reforms, and ensuring accountability amid ongoing investigations into alleged corruption in public projects.
