PDEA Lauds Arrest of Police Officer in Cagayan de Oro City Murder Case

Cagayan de Oro: The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has praised the arrest of a police officer implicated in illegal drug activities and the murder of a fellow officer in Cagayan de Oro City.

According to Philippines News Agency, Benjamin Gaspi, director of PDEA-10 (Northern Mindanao), expressed approval of the arrest of Staff Sgt. Arman Tagolimot. Gaspi emphasized that this development will allow for the continuation of the illegal drug charges previously filed against Tagolimot.

A joint police operation successfully apprehended Tagolimot, who had been absent without leave, in Barangay Iponan on April 26. Brig. Gen. Jaysen de Guzman, Director of the Police Regional Office-10, disclosed that Tagolimot is a primary suspect in the murder of Capt. Abdulcahar Armama, the former head of Cogon Police Station 2, which occurred last year.

De Guzman further revealed that Tagolimot is also facing separate charges related to illegal possession of firearms.
