Manila: Government anti-drug operations resulted in the seizure of PHP47.80 billion worth of dangerous drugs in 2025, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said Tuesday. From Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, PDEA, together with other law enforcement agencies, carried out 39,491 anti-drug operations that led to the arrest of 51,614 suspects, from street-level pushers to high-value targets.

According to Philippines News Agency, the operations led to the confiscation of significant quantities of various illegal substances. Among the seized narcotics were 6.59 tons of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu worth PHP44.83 billion; 174,347.56 grams of cocaine worth PHP924 million; 24,860 ecstasy tablets worth PHP42 million; 546,102.92 grams of marijuana kush worth PHP655 million; 1,850,610.88 grams of dried marijuana leaves and bricks worth PHP222 million; 515,698.19 grams of marijuana stalks worth PHP62 million; 147,907.99 grams of marijuana fruiting tops worth PHP18 million; 4,899,543 marijuana plants worth PHP980 million; and 183,257 marijuana seedlings worth PHP7.3 million.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani Nerez highlighted the agency's commitment to the national anti-drug campaign, stating, "These achievements demonstrate PDEA's firm resolve in leading the national anti-drug campaign." He emphasized the importance of precision-driven strategies, uncompromising enforcement, seamless inter-agency cooperation, and local community involvement in disrupting drug syndicates.

Nerez also urged all sectors of society to maintain vigilance and support the fight against illegal drugs by reporting drug-related activities, bolstering community-based prevention efforts, and collaborating with law enforcement authorities.
