New york: Malaca±ang on Monday (New York time) stated that the Philippines will not be rejoining the International Criminal Court (ICC) for the time being. In a press conference held at the Hilton Garden Inn, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro conveyed that President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has not altered his stance on the issue.

According to Philippines News Agency, Castro relayed the President's decision by saying, "Hindi nagbabago yung stance ng Pangulo. Hindi pa rin po tayo ngayon magre-rejoin sa ICC. Iyan lang ang binitawan sa akin na salita ng Pangulo," which translates to, "The President's stance has not changed. We are still not rejoining the ICC at this time. That is all the President said to me."

The Philippines officially withdrew from the ICC on March 17, 2019, marking the end of a year-long process following the revocation of the Rome Statute. The decision to withdraw was initially announced in March 2018 by former President Rodrigo Duterte. This move followed a preliminary examination by former ICC prosecutor Fatou Bensouda into alleged crimes committed during Duterte's controversial drug war.

Currently, Duterte is held at the ICC Detention Center in The Hague, Netherlands. He faces allegations of crimes against humanity, purportedly committed during the enforcement of his drug policy between November 1, 2011, and March 16, 2019.
