Manila: The Philippines has turned over 40 6 kW class portable power generators to civilian communities in Ukraine, the Ukraine Embassy in Manila said Wednesday. The donation is part of an ongoing effort to support Ukraine amidst ongoing challenges with its energy grid.

According to Philippines News Agency, the donation, facilitated by Senator Erwin Tulfo and supplied by Highball Traders, will be channeled through the rescEU Donations Scheme. This scheme is a European Union initiative that coordinates assistance from international donors to Ukraine. The Embassy stated that the equipment would help stabilize power supply for essential non-military infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, and other civilian facilities that have been affected by disruptions to Ukraine's energy grid.

In a statement, the Embassy extended its gratitude to Senator Tulfo, Highball Traders Inc., Philippine Transmarine Carriers, KLN Logistics, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in the Philippines, and the Delegation of the European Union to the Philippines for their support in making this initiative possible. Ukrainian Ambassador to the Philippines Yuliia Fediv highlighted the donation as a reflection of the humanitarian partnership between Ukraine and the Philippines.

The Embassy emphasized that the generators are intended exclusively for civilian and humanitarian use, with no military or security-related applications. The shipment is set to travel from the Philippines to the Port of Gdansk, Poland, where it will be received by the Governmental Strategic Reserves Agency of Poland (RARS) for delivery to Ukraine.
