PhilHealth Achieves 98.74% Settlement of YAKAP Claims for 2026 First Tranche

Manila: The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has announced that it has successfully settled 98.74 percent of the first tranche of its Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) claims for the year 2026, strengthening the financial sustainability of the healthcare initiative.

According to Philippines News Agency, PhilHealth's public advisory on Monday highlighted that as of June 11, the claims under Tranche 1 of the YAKAP Claims 2026 are officially classified under Statement of Accounts Payable 1 (SAP 1). YAKAP is an enhanced and rebranded version of the previous "Konsulta" primary care package.

The program utilizes a capitation payment model, providing accredited clinics with a fixed annual sum per enrolled patient, rather than charging a fee for each visit. This model aims to maintain the liquidity of community clinics by splitting payments into two parts. Tranche 1, which constitutes 40 percent, is activated immediately once a patient completes their "first patient encounter" and signs their empanelment slip. Tranche 2, comprising the remaining 60 percent, is released later, contingent upon the completion of consultations, laboratory results, and prescription submissions.

The state insurer expressed gratitude towards its partner-accredited YAKAP providers for their collaboration. "Sa tamang sistema, mabilis ang serbisyo para sa lahat (With the right system, fast services benefit everyone)," the advisory noted. The swift payout is expected to enhance the confidence of both private and public healthcare providers in working with the government to deliver accessible outpatient services to all Filipinos.
