Davao: The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation-Davao Region (PhilHealth-11) has launched its YAKAP (Yaman ng Kalusugan Program) caravan across different sectors in the city. The agency reported on Tuesday the successful rollout of YAKAP caravans, which benefited hundreds of members who availed themselves of free primary care benefits.

According to Philippines News Agency, PhilHealth-11 has already conducted YAKAP orientations for employees of the Commission on Higher Education and their family members, including registration and first patient encounter in YAKAP-accredited clinics. The Field Operations Division - Membership Section also held orientation and registration for employees of the Land Transportation Office-11. PhilHealth-11 emphasized its commitment to forging stronger partnerships with government agencies while ensuring that more Filipino workers gain convenient access to health coverage and protection under the National Health Insurance Program.

PhilHealth-11 is also extending on-site member updating, amendment services, and YAKAP orientation and registration to senior citizens in the city. The initiative aims to empower the elderly with accessible, affordable, and reliable healthcare, reaffirming their dignity and role in the community.

On October 4, through its Local Health Insurance Office, PhilHealth-11 held a YAKAP caravan at Catalunan Grande Elementary School, benefiting hundreds of parents and students. The caravan provided essential health services, membership support, record updates, registration at YAKAP clinics, initial patient visits, free consultations, lab tests, health checkups, and distribution of medicines. PhilHealth-11 stated that the caravan served as a concrete demonstration of its commitment to making healthcare more accessible and responsive to its members' needs, especially for underserved communities.
