Accra:Taal A minor phreatomagmatic eruption lasting two minutes was observed at Taal Volcano's main crater on Wednesday, as reported by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

According to Philippines News Agency, the eruption produced a plume that rose 250 meters above the crater. The alert level remains at 1, indicating low-level unrest. In addition to this event, Phivolcs documented a one-minute minor phreatic eruption within the last 24 hours.

Phivolcs has previously stated that small eruptions at Taal Volcano are a normal occurrence, happening multiple times a day since 2021.
