Manila: The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) is ramping up efforts to make government identification services more accessible to the public by introducing same-day Postal ID processing at a mall in Manila. In a news release on Monday, PHLPost announced that same-day processing and release of Postal IDs may be availed at the 5th floor of the Government Express Center at SM City Manila.
According to Philippines News Agency, to apply, qualified individuals must submit their requirements between 11 a.m. and 12 noon, Monday to Friday, with the release scheduled for 4 p.m. on the same day. Applications submitted after the cut-off time will be processed for release the following day. Fees remain at PHP550 for regular processing, and PHP650 for rush applications.
The Postal ID remains one of the most widely accepted government-issued identification cards in the country, commonly used for banking and other official transactions. 'PHLPost has significantly expanded its reach by establishing more satellite post offices in major shopping malls across the country,' according to the news release. 'This initiative aims to make postal services accessible to the public by integrating them into high-traffic, convenient locations,' it added.
