Manila: The Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) have entered into a memorandum of agreement (MOA) aimed at cutting red tape to streamline government processes and ensure a more efficient, transparent, and accountable public service.

According to Philippines News Agency, the MOA was signed by acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. and ARTA Director General Ernesto Perez as part of efforts to support President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s vision for a Bagong Pilipinas. This agreement marks a significant step towards reducing bureaucratic inefficiencies and enhancing the overall quality of public service in the country.

Lt. Gen. Nartatez emphasized the importance of the collaboration, stating, 'Through this agreement, we are taking concrete steps to reduce red tape and enhance efficiency. Sa pamamagitan ng pagtutulungan natin, masisiguro natin na ang serbisyo publiko ay hindi lang mabilis at maayos, kundi tapat at maaasahan din (By working together, we can ensure public service that is not only fast and efficient, but also honest and reliable).' He highlighted the opportunity for the PNP to strengthen coordination and streamline its internal processes to ensure faster, easier, and more accountable services, including licensing, documentation, and other public-facing functions.
