PNP Chief Installs New Police Director for Northern Mindanao

Cagayan de oro: Acting Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. led the leadership turnover at the Police Regional Office in Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) on Wednesday. During the ceremony, Nartatez formally announced Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano's assumption as acting regional director, succeeding Brig. Gen. Rolindo Suguilon.

According to Philippines News Agency, Nartatez emphasized that the PNP's mandate and commitment to anti-crime efforts "will remain aggressive," reminding police personnel and officials of their duty to public service. Meanwhile, Abrahano pledged to maintain peace and order on the ground, highlighting that police visibility is crucial in curbing criminal activities.

PRO-10 spokesperson Maj. Joann Navarro noted that their unit is among the few regional offices currently undergoing a leadership change. "To my knowledge, there were three so far; other than PRO-10, PRO-2 (Cagayan Valley), and PRO-4B (Southwestern Tagalog) were included," she stated.
