Taguig city: Philippine National Police (PNP) acting chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. has established a multi-sectoral partnership with the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) to enhance institutional cooperation in promoting transparency and accountability in government infrastructure projects across the nation.

According to Philippines News Agency, Nartatez represented the PNP at a meeting with officials from the ICI, a commission set up by the President to probe alleged irregularities in flood control projects, and the IBP. This meeting took place at the Department of Energy (DOE) Energy Center, Rizal Drive, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City on September 23. The initiative aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive and is guided by Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla to ensure accountability and efficiency in government programs and infrastructure projects aimed at protecting communities.

Lt. Gen. Nartatez emphasized the PNP's role in providing investigative and law enforcement support to the ICI and its partner institutions. By participating in this initiative, the PNP is demonstrating its dedication not only to traditional law enforcement activities but also to supporting the pursuit of truth and accountability. The PNP's involvement underscores its commitment to transparency and good governance.
