PRO-3 Urges Peace and Discipline Ahead of President Marcos Jr.’s SONA

Manila: With President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) scheduled for Monday, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO-3) has initiated comprehensive security measures across Central Luzon to ensure a peaceful and orderly event. PRO-3 chief Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio I. Pe±ones Jr. issued a strong appeal to the public to exercise their constitutional rights to free expression in a lawful and responsible manner, emphasizing the importance of observing discipline during rallies and public assemblies.

According to Philippines News Agency, Pe±ones encouraged participants in rallies or assemblies to observe maximum discipline, follow permitted routes and guidelines, and avoid actions that could disrupt public peace and security. In anticipation of possible mass actions and public gatherings, PRO-3 has deployed personnel across strategic areas in coordination with local government units and other law enforcement agencies. Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) teams, alongside Reactionary Standby Support Forces (RSSF), are on high alert and ready to respond swiftly to any emergency or untoward incident.

Pe±ones underscored the agency's commitment to safeguarding both public order and individual rights, stating that the primary goal is to maintain peace and order while ensuring the President's SONA proceeds smoothly and safely for all. PRO-3 also assured the public that all deployed police personnel will adhere strictly to human rights protocols during the conduct of their duties.
