Davao: The Davao Region's employment rate rose to 96.4 percent in July.

According to Philippines News Agency, data released by the Philippines Statistics Authority (PSA) 11 (Davao Region) showed that this figure is higher than the national estimate of 94.7 percent but slightly lower than the 96.9 percent recorded in July of the previous year. The agency reported that the number of employed individuals in July 2025 reached 2.29 million.

Meanwhile, the region's underemployment rate saw an increase to 10.5 percent in July, compared to 3.9 percent in April and 3.7 percent in July of the previous year. The agency noted that approximately 241,000 of the 2.29 million employed individuals expressed a desire for additional hours in their current jobs, additional jobs, or new jobs with longer working hours in July 2025.

PSA-11 records also indicated that the labor force participation rate (LFPR) in July was 61 percent. This is lower than the LFPRs reported in July 2024 (62.5 percent) and April 2025 (63.6 percent). The LFPR in July signifies that 2.38 million Dabawenyos aged 15 years and above were part of the labor force, which includes both those employed and those unemployed but actively seeking work.

The number of individuals aged 15 or older in the labor force was recorded at 2.39 million in July 2024 and 2.47 million in April 2025.
