Bogo city: The number of families affected by the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck Bogo City, Cebu, and surrounding areas on September 30, 2025, has now surpassed 155,000, as reported in the official government tally as of Monday.
According to Philippines News Agency, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) revealed that a total of 155,094 families, equivalent to 547,394 individuals, have been impacted in Central Visayas. Among them, 405 families are currently residing in four evacuation centers, while 7,357 families are seeking temporary accommodation elsewhere.
The NDRRMC's report further indicated that 72 fatalities and 559 injuries have been documented, with all figures undergoing validation and verification. The Office of Civil Defense noted that these numbers could fluctuate as the Department of the Interior and Local Government's Management of the Dead and Missing Persons continues its validation process.
In terms of property damage, a total of 35,925 houses in Region 7 have been affected, with 32,123 classified as "partially damaged" and 3,802 as "totally damaged." The NDRRMC has yet to provide estimates on the infrastructure and agricultural damage caused by the earthquake.
Regarding aid for the victims, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has distributed PHP93,524,508.25 worth of food and non-food items. As of October 5, 187,858 families have received family food packs.
