Manila: The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is set to begin repair work on the expansion joints of the M. Roxas Jr. flyover's northbound lane in Manila starting this weekend. The initiative will address the affected expansion joints in a phased manner.
According to Philippines News Agency, the DPWH - North Manila District Engineering Office announced that repair activities will commence at 10 p.m. on June 6. The repairs will involve partial lane closures by segments, with work covering two consecutive expansion joints per half lane. Each segment's repair is expected to take seven days to complete.
The DPWH has advised motorists to utilize service roads as alternative routes to mitigate anticipated traffic congestion during the repair period. Motorists can access information about alternate routes by scanning the QR code on the DPWH advisory available on social media or by visiting the provided Google Map link: https://shorturl.at/TGXPj.
The repair effort is part of the "Build Better More" program initiated by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and led by Secretary Manuel Bonoan. The program aims to improve road safety and traffic flow in Metro Manila.
