Butuan: The Securities and Exchange Commission-Butuan Extension Office (SEC-Butuan) is set to hold a comprehensive one-day online forum on March 19 for all registered corporations in the Caraga region. The event aims to enhance participants' understanding of SEC processes, compliance requirements, and digital access to SEC services.

According to Philippines News Agency, the forum, titled 'Empowering Caraga Region Corporations: 1st Quarter Webinar,' will focus on introducing new SEC online systems, procedures for filing annual reports, recent memorandum circulars, and the innovative HARBOR System. The HARBOR system is designed to streamline the submission and updating of beneficial ownership declarations for corporations, having been launched in February 2026.

The webinar will also cover other online platforms introduced last year, such as the SEC's inquiry and complaint submission system. Additionally, eWATCH, launched last month, will be discussed, which facilitates company monitoring requests. Existing systems like eSECURE, the digital passport for accessing SEC services, will also be highlighted to guide companies in creating secured accounts for platform access.

Participants will receive briefings on eAMEND for filing corporate amendments, eFAST for General Information Sheet and Financial Statement submissions, and eSAP, which authenticates SEC documents without requiring wet signatures, notarization, or hard copies. This initiative seeks to streamline corporate compliance processes in the region.

The forum will also discuss three memorandum circulars issued this year, including MC3, which provides standardized guidelines for corporate amendments and penalties for late or non-submission of hard copies. MC4, which modifies the audit threshold so that only corporations with assets or liabilities above PHP3 million are required to submit audited financial statements, will also be addressed. Presently, the Caraga region has 5,409 registered corporations engaging with these initiatives.
