Senators Back Former Finance Secretary Ralph Recto’s Appointment as Executive Secretary

Manila: The appointment of former finance secretary Ralph Recto as the new Executive Secretary receives backing from senators who express confidence that his leadership and record of public service will strengthen coordination and governance in Malaca±ang.

According to Philippines News Agency, Senator Erwin Tulfo praised Recto's appointment, highlighting his strong performance in steering the country's fiscal policy and maintaining economic stability. Tulfo emphasized the benefits of having Recto lead the Office of the Executive Secretary, noting Recto's extensive public service experience as evidence of his effectiveness and trustworthiness as a statesman.

Tulfo also expressed gratitude for Recto's support during his tenure as social welfare secretary. "His unwavering assistance was crucial, allowing us to continue our strides in pursuit of social justice. Congratulations, and you have our full support, Executive Secretary Recto," Tulfo said in a statement.

Senator Lito Lapid, who served alongside Recto in the Senate for 12 years, also expressed confidence in Recto's appointment, describing him as a public servant of talent, dedication, and unquestionable work ethic. Lapid noted Recto's readiness for the demanding responsibilities of the position, often referred to as the "Little President."

Lapid stated, "He will take on heavy responsibilities in Malaca±ang, and I am confident he would fulfill them with integrity, diligence, and compassion for the Filipino people."

Recto took his oath as the new Executive Secretary before President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Wednesday, succeeding Lucas Bersamin.
