Manila: The Social Housing Finance Corp. (SHFC) has given the green light to four housing projects as part of the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program. This initiative is set to provide housing for more than 3,800 families in the provinces of Bataan, Cagayan, Negros Occidental, and Palawan.
According to Philippines News Agency, the projects were approved during the agency's credit committee meeting held on Thursday. They consist of two projects under the Enhanced Community Mortgage Program (ECMP) and two under the 4PH vertical housing program. SHFC President and Chief Executive Officer Federico Laxa emphasized that these projects are aligned with the government's objective of increasing access to safe and affordable housing for low-income families in the Philippines.
The approved ECMP projects include the La Pureza Homeowners Association Inc. in Barangay Rizal, Silay City, Negros Occidental, which will accommodate nearly 200 families, and the Blessed Ville Homeowners Association Inc. in Barangay Poblacion, District 1, Brooke's Point, Palawan, set to serve more than 160 families.
Additionally, the committee approved two vertical housing projects. The Perez Ville CMP Homeowners Association Inc. in Barangay Larion Bajo, Tuguegarao City, is expected to house over 1,800 families. Meanwhile, the 1Bataan Alas Asin Phase 1 in Barangay Alas-asin, Mariveles, Bataan, aims to provide homes for more than 1,700 families.
The Expanded 4PH Program is a prominent housing initiative spearheaded by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development in collaboration with the SHFC, focusing on increasing housing opportunities for Filipino families.
