Manila: Rains will continue to prevail over most parts of the country due to the southwest monsoon or 'habagat,' the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Sunday.

According to Philippines News Agency, PAGASA reported in its 5 a.m. bulletin that the habagat will bring monsoon rains over Ilocos Sur, La Union, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro. These regions may experience possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy with at times intense rains.

Occasional rains will be experienced over Metro Manila, the rest of the Ilocos Region and Cordillera Administrative Region, Nueva Vizcaya, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Oriental Mindoro, and Antique. Additionally, Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, the rest of Luzon, Western Visayas, Leyte, and Southern Leyte will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms also due to the southwest monsoon.

Batanes will also experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the trough of a tropical cyclone. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

As of 3 a.m., PAGASA noted that Typhoon Dolphin was located 755 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour (kph) with gustiness of up to 130 kph, and moving west northwestward at 15 kph. Extreme Northern Luzon will have strong to gale winds and rough to very rough seas, while the rest of the archipelago will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas.
