Manila: Malaca±ang has announced special non-working days in specific areas of Biliran, Batangas, and Cagayan this May, allowing residents to partake in significant local historical and cultural festivities.
According to Philippines News Agency, Proclamation No. 1240 designates May 11, 2026, as a special non-working day in Biliran province to commemorate its foundation anniversary. Additionally, Proclamation No. 1241 sets May 23, 2026, as a special non-working day in Calaca, Batangas, marking the birth anniversary of General Eleuterio Marasigan, a pivotal figure in the province's libertarian movement.
Further, Malaca±ang has issued Proclamation No. 1242, which declares May 20, 2026, as a special non-working day in Gattaran, Cagayan, celebrating its founding anniversary. These proclamations were signed by acting Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, authorized by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
The Palace emphasized that these declarations are intended to provide residents ample opportunity to engage in their respective commemorative and civic events.
