Manila: Tropical Depression (TD) Fabian will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Friday night, the weather bureau announced. Fabian was positioned 245 kilometers west of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte as of 4 p.m., moving in a northwestward direction at a speed of 15 kph.
According to Philippines News Agency, Fabian is packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near its center, with gustiness reaching up to 55 kph. The weather system is anticipated to weaken into a remnant low as it departs the PAR.
No tropical cyclone signals have been raised, and it is unlikely that Fabian will have a direct impact on the country's weather conditions, as stated by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). Nonetheless, Fabian is still causing moderate sea conditions in the coastal waters of Northern Luzon. Mariners of motor bancas and vessels of similar size are advised to exercise caution when venturing out to sea.
In the meantime, the prevailing southwest monsoon is expected to continue bringing rains to most parts of the Philippines, PAGASA reported.
