Manila: Amid the ongoing tension in the Middle East, an executive of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) said Tuesday that overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) could avail of fast-tracked intervention from the agency.

According to Philippines News Agency, TESDA Public Information Office Director Floramel Joy Songsong emphasized the agency's commitment to providing support to OFWs through partnerships that facilitate access to training and certification in feasible areas. She highlighted that TESDA is offering targeted and expedited interventions for affected OFWs.

These interventions include priority access to training slots, customized training programs based on prior overseas work experience, and flexible learning options designed to meet immediate reintegration needs. Songsong noted that TESDA's primary focus is on reintegration services for returning OFWs, which encompass skills training, assessment, and certification.

Additionally, OFWs have the option to enroll in the TESDA Online Program (TOP) to enhance their existing qualifications or acquire new skills. The intervention aims to assist OFWs in securing more stable employment or establishing a livelihood.

TESDA remains dedicated to its objective of delivering training that results in real and decent jobs. The fast-tracked intervention is also available for OFWs who choose to remain overseas. Songsong emphasized that TESDA prioritizes OFWs, particularly those displaced or laid off, treating them as "special clients" in their programs.
