Manila: The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), shear line, and northeast monsoon (amihan) are expected to continue bringing cloudy skies with rains over various parts of the Philippines, as announced by the national weather bureau on Saturday. In a 4 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) highlighted regions that will be affected by these weather systems. According to Philippines News Agency, Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, the Negros Island Region, Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo, and Palawan are anticipated to experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ. Meanwhile, the shear line is forecasted to cause scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Quezon, Laguna, and Rizal. The northeast monsoon, also known as amihan, is expected to bring cloudy skies with rains to Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora. The rest of the country is predicted to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. PAGASA further noted that Northern Luzon and the eastern section of Central Luzon will experience strong winds and rough coastal waters.
