Videographer of Detained Russian Vlogger Faces Charges

Manila: The videographer of Russian vlogger Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, who was recently detained for harassing Filipinos, is also facing legal complaints for unjust vexation, as announced by Malaca±ang on Friday. The Philippine National Police (PNP) has identified the videographer as Christopher Dantes, also known by the alias Skylane, according to Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire during a press briefing.

According to Philippines News Agency, the PNP has filed charges against Dantes, accusing him of unjust vexation in relation to Republic Act (RA) 10175 and RA 995, as well as violations under the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act. Claire Castro emphasized the seriousness of the charges, stating, "As for the alleged videographer or cameraman who was with Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, now he has been charged, according to the PNP, a case has been filed against him, this Christopher Dantes alias Skylane."

President Marcos has publicly condemned Zdorovetskiy's actions, which included harassing security guards, stealing an industrial fan from a restaurant, and verbally insulting a windsurfing instructor. These incidents took place during a livestream at a mall in Taguig City and on Boracay Island. Marcos stressed that such behavior, disguised as entertainment, will not be tolerated.

Claire Castro assured that Dantes will be afforded the opportunity to defend himself. She stated, "Under the administration of President Marcos, everyone is given the right to defend themselves for them to exercise the right to due process." Castro reiterated the government's commitment to due process, emphasizing its importance under President Marcos's leadership.
