Manila: The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) has dispatched 1,500 uniformed officers to the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) to bolster security measures for the upcoming Feast of the Black Nazarene, also known as Traslaci³n 2026, set to take place on January 9 in Metro Manila. The deployment includes personnel from PRO-3 maneuver units, provincial police offices, and Regional Mobile Forces, and was officially sent off at a ceremony attended by the PRO-3 Command Group and Regional Staff.
According to Philippines News Agency, PRO-3 Director Brig. General Ponce Rogelio Pe±ones Jr. stated that the deployment underscores the command's readiness and dedication to national security tasks, especially during extensive religious events that attract millions of participants. Pe±ones emphasized the significance of inter-regional collaboration to ensure a secure, orderly, and peaceful Traslaci³n.
Pe±ones addressed the deployed personnel, highlighting the operational challenges such as crowd control, public safety, and emergency response associated with the annual procession. He urged them to maintain discipline, patience, and professionalism throughout their assignment.
Prior to their departure, Rev. Fr. Police Lt. Col. Jonathan Chy, the PRO-3 pastoral officer, bestowed blessings upon the troops for safety, strength, and sound judgment during their time in Metro Manila. The PRO-3 augmentation is part of the Philippine National Police's comprehensive security plan for Traslaci³n 2026, aimed at safeguarding public safety and ensuring the orderly conduct of one of the nation's largest annual religious events.
