2nd Route of Cebu’s Love Bus Libreng Sakay Program Launched

Cebu city: The Department of Tourism (DOT), Department of Transportation (DOTr), and Department of Budget and Management (DBM) on Friday launched the second route of Cebu's Love Bus Libreng Sakay program. This initiative aims to enhance mobility for both local and international tourists by providing free, accessible transportation along a new route.

According to Philippines News Agency, the ceremonial rollout in Cebu City was led by Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon, and Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman. Frasco emphasized that the program aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s commitment to improving travel comfort and accessibility, while also promoting Cebu's premier destinations.

The newly launched route extends from AnjoWorld in Minglanilla to SM Seaside Cebu, complementing the initial service that started earlier this year between Parkmall Terminal in Mandaue City and Urgello, Cebu City. The buses operate during peak hours, offering free rides daily from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. They are designed to accommodate persons with disabilities, senior citizens, women, and children.

Key officials present at the launch included DOT Undersecretary Shahlimar Hofer Tamano; DOTr Undersecretaries Mark Pastor, Giovanni Lopez, and Ramon Reyes; DBM Undersecretaries Wilford Wong and Goddes Hope Libiran; LTFRB Executive Director Loumer Bernabe; LTFRB 7 (Central Visayas) Director Eduardo Montealto; and DOT-7 Assistant Regional Director Gelena Asis-Dimpas.
