Manila: Over 94,000 families have been affected by Severe Tropical Storm Paolo, which lashed parts of Luzon last week, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Monday.
According to Philippines News Agency, the NDRRMC reported that 94,744 families, equivalent to 313,822 persons, were impacted across Regions 1 (Ilocos Region), 2 (Cagayan Valley), 3 (Central Luzon), Cordillera Administrative Region, and Calabarzon.
As of Monday afternoon, 866 families are residing in 42 evacuation centers, while another 1,928 families are temporarily sheltered in other locations. The NDRRMC has yet to release information regarding casualties or estimates of damage to agriculture and infrastructure.
Paolo, internationally recognized as Matmo, made landfall in Dinapigue, Isabela on October 3 before advancing to typhoon status. The storm exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility on October 4.
