Abalos Commits to Improving Government Program Implementation

Iloilo city: Cabinet Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. has committed to enhancing the implementation of government programs by addressing concerns raised by local governments, the private sector, and the public promptly.

According to Philippines News Agency, Abalos emphasized that his role enables him to engage directly with stakeholders and collaborate with government agencies to turn concerns into actionable outcomes. One of his key priorities is to boost public awareness and usage of the eGovPH App, a digital platform designed to facilitate easier access to public services, including health care.

Abalos also expressed optimism about President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s commitment to amending the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA), especially provisions that affect consumer charges. In his fifth State of the Nation Address, President Marcos proposed eliminating system loss charges from consumers' electricity bills, a move Abalos supports.

Additionally, Abalos welcomed the President's proposal to increase the income tax exemption threshold to PHP350,000. 'I'm sure with this, the President has already given a marching order,' he stated.

Speaking as the keynote speaker during the 2026 Second Quarter Continuing Local Legislative Education Program in Iloilo City, Abalos assured city and municipal councilors that Malaca±ang remains accessible to local officials. 'Malaca±ang is always open to everyone. My office is always open to everyone,' he reaffirmed.
