Manila: The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region and the province of Laguna have agreed to collaborate on tourism development through knowledge sharing and technical exchanges. This partnership was solidified during a meeting on Thursday, where both parties expressed their commitment to enhancing tourism initiatives.

According to Philippines News Agency, BARMM tourism officials visited Laguna for a benchmarking tour focused on tourism circuit development and best practices. The delegation aimed to gain insights into Laguna's successful tourism strategies and how they can be adapted to benefit the Bangsamoro region.

'Laguna is a historic province with a rich cultural heritage. It is important for us to understand its governance framework and how the private sector contributes to tourism development,' said BARMM Deputy Director Marites Maguindra. This visit underscores the importance of learning from established tourism models to boost regional tourism efforts.

Laguna Governor Sol Aragones, in a virtual message, welcomed the partnership and emphasized the value of interregional learning for enhancing tourism circuits and cultural promotion. She highlighted that the collaboration aims to strengthen both regions' tourism industries through shared expertise and private sector engagement. This joint effort is expected to pave the way for innovative tourism strategies that benefit both regions.
