Tacloban: The Department of Education (DepEd) has recognized 60 partners in Eastern Visayas to inspire stakeholders to continue their commitment to education. In a gathering at the Madison Park Hotel, DepEd 8 (Eastern Visayas) Director Ronelo Al Firmo highlighted the essential support provided by stakeholders across various sectors, emphasizing their role in liberating basic education for all.

According to Philippines News Agency, Director Firmo expressed gratitude for the community's involvement, stating, "Education is not the work of DepEd alone since this is the work of the community who helps transform education. We are never alone in this journey. Thank you for believing that every child deserves education and no learner is left behind." Among those recognized were seven private lending institutions, 13 journalists, 13 non-government organizations, a private company, four international organizations, nine national government agencies, a private individual who funded the construction of a school building, seven city and municipal mayors, and five provincial governors.

DepEd Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs and External Partnerships Cilette Liboro Co remarked on the impact of these collaborations, noting that each partnership offers more children the chance to achieve their dreams. Co cited the partnership with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization and the Korea International Cooperation Agency, which has been instrumental in providing education for girls in Leyte. This alliance has created opportunities for Filipino learners.

The collaboration with the two international organizations led to the construction of a school for young female learners who are unable to attend regular classes due to extreme poverty. Anchored on the theme "Kabalikat sa Pag-aaral: Uniting Hearts, Transforming Education," the event aims to foster a culture of appreciation and inclusivity while inspiring stakeholders to sustain their commitment to education.
