DMW Launches Anti-Trafficking Awareness Initiative in Bukidnon

Malaybalay city: The Department of Migrant Workers in Northern Mindanao (DMW-10) has issued a caution to prospective overseas jobseekers about the dangers of illegal recruitment in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

According to Philippines News Agency, DMW-10 Officer-in-Charge Emmanuel Toledo emphasized the importance of the Anti-Illegal Recruitment and Trafficking in Persons (AIRTIP) advocacy campaign during an orientation session. The campaign, launched across the region, aims to prevent new jobseekers from falling victim to illegal recruitment practices. "It's our mission not only to help Filipinos find jobs outside the country, but also to secure their rights and safety," Toledo stated, with his message delivered by DMW-10 lawyer Francis Andrew Paduganan.

The orientation provided prospective jobseekers with crucial information to identify illegal recruitment tactics and explore legitimate avenues for overseas employment. Furthermore, the DMW-10 kept a close watch on participating licensed recruitment agencies to ensure they adhered to DMW policies and regulations.

The AIRTIP campaign is part of an ongoing nationwide initiative designed to safeguard overseas Filipino workers from job scams and human trafficking.
