DOLE Organizes Special Job Fair for POGO Workers in Pasay City.

Pasay City: Another special job fair for workers in the Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGO) sector, who are at risk of displacement, is scheduled to take place this month in Pasay City, announced the Department of Labor and Employment-National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) on Wednesday. The event is slated for November 19 and 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Music Hall. According to Philippines News Agency, the DOLE made the announcement via a social media post, highlighting that the job fair is specifically aimed at POGO workers affected by the impending ban. Workers interested in participating are encouraged to pre-register online at https://tinyurl.com/projectdapat. Job seekers are advised to prepare necessary pre-employment documents, including resumes, to maximize their chances of securing employment. The DOLE-NCR emphasized the potential for on-the-spot hiring, urging participants not to miss this opportunity. In a similar initiative last month, DOLE organized concurrent jo b fairs in Parañaque City and Makati City. These events presented 13,744 job opportunities from 108 employers, with 340 individuals registering for participation and 33 securing immediate employment. The organization of these special POGO job fairs aligns with directives for DOLE to assist Filipinos in finding new employment opportunities amid the forthcoming ban on POGO operations. President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has mandated that all POGO activities cease by December 31, 2024.
