Bicol: The Department of Agriculture in Bicol (DA-5) has announced the schedule for the Kadiwa ng Pangulo stores, also known as Katuwang sa Diwa at Gawa para sa Masaganang Ani at Mataas na Kita, across several provinces in the region.
According to Philippines News Agency, the first Kadiwa schedule took place in Talisay, Camarines Norte on Monday. Additional stores will be set up at Camp Simeon Ola in Legazpi City and in Guinobatan in Albay on October 7. The schedule continues with markets in Canaman, Camarines Sur on October 8, and in Malinao, Albay on October 9 and 10. On October 10, stores will also be available in Tigaon, Camarines Sur, Esperanza, Masbate, and Ligao City, Albay.
DA-5 spokesperson Lovella Guarin highlighted that Kadiwa stores offer the public opportunities to purchase affordable and fresh agricultural products, such as fruits, vegetables, and rice, directly from farmers at reduced prices. She emphasized that the Kadiwa ng Pangulo stores aim to promote farm-to-table initiatives, allowing farmers to earn higher incomes and access markets without middleman interference.
