Loboc Children’s Choir Dazzles at 13th China Int’l Folk Arts Fest

Loboc: A historic moment was witnessed during the opening of the 13th China International Folk Arts Festival (CIFAF) as the Loboc Children's Choir (LCC) from Bohol led the prestigious opening ceremony with a performance.

According to Philippines News Agency, composed of 16 young singers and three teachers, the LCC's voices and harmonies resonated on stage with their renditions of the songs "Shared Future" and "Jasmine Flower," conveying a message of unity and friendship among cultures.

As the only delegation from the Philippines, the LCC members served as young cultural ambassadors between the Philippines and China. Consul General Iric Arribas and Cultural Officer Sarah Erer of the Philippine Consulate General in Guangzhou supported the Philippine team.

Arribas stated that the LCC is a voice of friendship and understanding between the Philippines and China. 'Their music is a testament to the talent, discipline, and artistry of Filipino children. Through their voices, we send the world a message of friendship and unity, especially on this 50th Anniversary of the Formal Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Philippines and China,' he said.

Under this year's theme, 'Across Mountains and Seas, Together for the Future,' the festival aims to deepen cultural exchanges and strengthen people-to-people ties between the countries. The CIFAF is the only international folk arts festival in China approved by the State Council of the Chinese government, and since 1990, it has been held every three years.

The festival was held from Oct. 14 to 21 and featured performances from countries to celebrate friendship through art and culture.
