San Juan: The Dasay Elementary School in San Juan, La Union province is set to welcome students with two new classrooms when the new school year begins on June 16.
According to Philippines News Agency, Esperanza Tinaza, the information officer for the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) - Ilocos Region, stated that the newly constructed one-story school building is expected to significantly enhance the educational experience for learners. The construction project involved various tasks, including earthworks, masonry, and civil finishing, aimed at providing a durable and conducive learning environment. The modern design of the structure improves ventilation, lighting, and space availability, catering to both academic and extracurricular activities.
The project, which has a budget of PHP5.97 million, was funded under the General Appropriations Act of 2024. The construction began in April last year and has recently been completed. Tinaza emphasized that this development is a crucial investment in the community's youth, promoting not only academic success but also contributing to broader community development.
Tinaza further highlighted that the project reflects the government's dedication to supporting rural education and enhancing community infrastructure through sustainable and effective initiatives.
