Manila: No damage was incurred in airports due to Tropical Depression Verbena, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said on Tuesday. Airports in Tacloban City, Leyte; Catbalogan City, Samar; Virac, Catanduanes; Surigao City, Surigao del Norte; San Jose, Mamburao, and Lubang, all in Occidental Mindoro; Pinamalayan and Calapan City, both in Oriental Mindoro; Alcantara, Romblon; Gasan, Marinduque; and Bislig City and Tandag City in Surigao del Sur, reported normal operations and no damage to facilities.

According to Philippines News Agency, CAAP reported that at least 24 domestic flights were canceled as of 3 p.m. due to inclement weather. CAAP advises travelers to regularly check the official channels of their respective airlines for the latest flight advisories.

The weather bureau said Verbena was located over the coastal waters of Magsaysay, Palawan as of 1 p.m. The cyclone is forecast to make landfall over the northern portion of Palawan on Tuesday night.
