Manila: The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) has expressed its approval of Colliers Philippines' positive evaluation of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program. The program is noted for its role in enhancing housing accessibility and strengthening the overall housing sector in the country.
According to Philippines News Agency, DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling emphasized the department's dedication to making affordable and decent housing more accessible to Filipinos. He highlighted the importance of collaboration between the government and private sectors in achieving this goal. Aliling remarked on the significant recognition the Expanded 4PH Program has received from stakeholders, acknowledging its positive impact on the housing sector, the economy, and the lives of Filipinos. He stressed the benefits of a whole-of-society approach and cooperation between national and local governments, the private sector, and the public.
At the recent Q1 2026 Philippine Property Market Briefing in Bonifacio Global City, Colliers Philippines Research Director Joey Roi Bondoc identified the government's flagship housing initiative as a major factor contributing to the increased activity in the affordable housing segment. Bondoc noted that by prioritizing government intervention to stimulate the economy, the Expanded 4PH Program is significantly benefiting the condominium market, particularly for urban poor and low-income earners.
Bondoc also highlighted the importance of collaboration among national government, local government units, and private sector partners in maintaining the momentum of the housing sector. This collaboration aims to expand opportunities for more Filipino families through the program. Despite some areas of Metro Manila facing high inventory, Bondoc pointed out that the combined efforts of government-led Keynesian policy, local government participation, and private sector innovation are steering the market towards inclusivity and long-term stability.
In addition, Secretary Aliling stated that the administration is committed to pursuing long-term and inclusive housing solutions. These efforts align with the President's directive to improve the lives of underserved and low-income communities.
